This is the best known herb of all, our curled parsley has a compact habit and bright green curly leaves. Parsley is a favourite for kitchen use and also makes a good edging plant in the garden.

French parsley has a flat dark green leaf and a much stronger flavour than the curled variety. It is far superior for overwintering use as the flat leaves shed the rain and snow, unlike the curly ones, which retain dampness and suffer from frost damage very easily.

Japanese parsley is an oriental salad herb. It is an aromatic hardy perennial with bright green lobed leaves. The flavour is reminiscent of celery mixed with a bit of parsley, sorrel and coriander!

Purple Shiso is an annual herb that originates from S.E. Asia. It is reasonably hardy with purple crinkled leaves and pale pink flowers. Whilst it is extremely ornamental it is also brilliant to use in the kitchen.
