Its size and habit make it an ideal herb to grow on the windowsill in a pot.

This is a large leaf basil cultivar with pale green foliage and a strong liquorice flavour and fragrance, which is extensively used in Far Eastern cuisine. When it flowers it has large, really striking burgundy coloured flower heads, making it an especially attractive specimen if grown in a container.
This is a taller and more vigorous parsley than the French variety. It has similar flat and strongly flavoured dark green leaves and grows to be a large and prolific plant. It is an attractive herb which can be grown as an edge to the herb garden or potager. Ideal for growing in a container as well as the herb garden.
This is the best known herb of all, our curled parsley has a compact habit and bright green curly leaves. Parsley is a favourite for kitchen use and also makes a good edging plant in the garden.
French parsley has a flat dark green leaf and a much stronger flavour than the curled variety. It is far superior for overwintering use as the flat leaves shed the rain and snow, unlike the curly ones, which retain dampness and suffer from frost damage very easily.
Japanese parsley is an oriental salad herb. It is an aromatic hardy perennial with bright green lobed leaves. The flavour is reminiscent of celery mixed with a bit of parsley, sorrel and coriander!

Purple Shiso is an annual herb that originates from S.E. Asia.
It is reasonably hardy with purple crinkled leaves and pale pink flowers.
Whilst it is extremely ornamental it is also brilliant to use in the kitchen.
